Folios 263-264: Wilson Rathbone, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Reports on the case of George Liddle, who was sent to the Nore on 5 November aboard the tender HMS Eliza, returns the enclosures. Liddle was impressed by Lieutenant John Liddle at Sunderland when he was found ashore in the evening while not on the ship's business. He is aware that it is the custom in Sunderland for Masters to go ashore leaving their Mates in charge of the vessel, but he has recommended that they sent apprentices instead.
Folios 265-266: enclosed with folios 263-264. Letter from George Martin, Sunderland, ship owner, to the Admiralty, 8 December 1810. As George Liddle, the Mate of his ship the Mary of Sunderland, was impressed on 4 November while ashore and sent to the Nore, asks for his discharge.
