Folios 209-210: Peter Rye, HM Armed Ship Providence, the Humber. Acknowledges the letter approving of Commander George Edward Watts' conduct and enclosing a copy of his letter to the Admiralty. Encloses Commander Watts' letter to him, which was collected by Commander Henry Weir of HMS Calypso when he called on Commander Watts to hear the latest intelligence of the privateer. HMS Woodlark returned to the Grimsby Roads on 21 November and called on Commander Rye to explain his conduct. Commander Rye explained to him that if he had received the information about the privateer, he could have sent the Calypso to search for it half a day earlier.
Folio 211: enclosed with folios 209-210. Letter from Commander George Edward Watts, HMS Woodlark, in the Humber, to Commander Peter Rye, Grimsby, 19 Nov 1810. Reports that an express arrived the previous evening at Hull stating that a privateer had captured a vessel to the North of Flamborough Head. Thought it his duty to immediately sail in search of the privateer.
