Folios 140-141: Wilson Rathbone, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Reports the case of Daniel Epps, Mate of the Lively, now aboard the tender HMS Eliza. Captain Rathbone detained Epps on 26 October because he thought he was an apprentice, but the man was later able to prove he was out of his indenture, and so was discharged.
Folio 142: enclosed with folios 140-141. Letter from George Garrett, Sandwich, to the Admiralty, 6 November 1810. Encloses an application on behalf of Daniel Epps.
Folios 143-144: enclosed with folio 142. Letter from Jacob Bunton, Master of the Lively of Sandwich. Reports that shortly after his vessel arrived in Shields, with Daniel Epps as Mate, Midshipman Bell and a press gang came aboard and took Epps by force to the tender HMS Eliza. Lieutenant Thomas Flinn was in charge of the gang. Asks for Epps' discharge.
