Points out that Captain Edward Parkinson of the 33rd Regiment, who carried home the military despatches reporting the capitulation of the Ile of Bourbon, was rewarded with a promotion to Major and the sum of £500 to defray his expenses. As he carried the naval despatches from the same engagement, asks what his reward might be.
