Description

Folios 123-124: W A Standert {Navy Agent), Cliffords Inn. Encloses an acting order from Vice Admiral Bartholomew Samuel Rowley appointing Lieutenant Joshua Ricketts Rowley to command HMS Sappho to replace the late Commander William Charleton. Asks for this to be confirmed.

Folio 125: enclosed with folios 123-124. Order signed by Vice Admiral Bartholomew Samuel Rowley, Commander in Chief, Jamaica, 8 August 1810, appointing Lieutenant Joshua Ricketts Rowley to command HMS Sappho to replace Commander Thomas Graves, who has been appointed to HMS Garland in place of the late Commander William Charleton. Counter-signed by James Meek on behalf of the Admiral.
