Folios 112-113: Wilson Rathbone, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Reports on the case of James McRobie, now aboard HMS Ceres, and returns [not present] the Greenland certificate taken from him at the time of his impressment. McRobie was impressed by Lieutenant Andrew Lapslie from the Sarah of South Shields because the protection he carried appeared to originally have been issued to James McCrowe and then altered to McRobie, and the man did not match the description given on it. McRobie is 21 years of age and a healthy, active seaman.
Folios 114-115: enclosed with folios 112-113. Letter from John Taylor, Customs, to the Admiralty 20 October 1810. Writes on behalf of John Wilkinson, who owns three ships in the Greenland trade, seeking the discharge of James McCrobie of the Experiment, who was impressed at South Shields by John Read because of an error in the spelling of his name on his protection. He is now aboard HMS Ceres at the Nore. McCrobie had sailed in the ship the previous season and was already engaged for this year.
