Folios 54-55: Wilson Rathbone, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Reports on the case of Thomas Clark and returns the affidavit taken from him. Clark was impressed by Lieutenant Andrew Lapslie at South Shields on 14 September from the Gipsey of Scarborough, Matthew Beswick, Master, because he had been illegally protected as Mate.
Folios 56-57: enclosed with folios 54-55. Petition from ship owner James Mosey, 9 Clare Court, Drury Lane, to the Admiralty, 13 October, 1810. Asks if Thomas Clark, Mate of the Gipsey of Scarborough who was impressed at Shields, can be discharged if he can provide substitutes.
Folio 58. enclosed with folios 54-55. Affidavit sworn by Matthew Beswick, Master of the Gipsey of Scarborough, before Justice of the Peace Joseph Wilson, Scarborough, 12 September 1810. Swears that Thomas Clarke is Mate of the Gipsey.
