Folios 45-46: Wilson Rathbone, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Reports on the case of John Hollman, sent to the Nore on the tender HMS Eliza on 27 September. He reported on this case on 18 September, encloses a copy. Mr Barrow's letter directed him to discharge Hollman as long as one seaman or two Landsmen were provided as substitutes. As no substitutes were received, he was sent to the Nore. 18 September 1810. Copy of a letter from Wilson Rathbone, Regulating Captain, North Shields, to the Admiralty. Reports on the case of John Hollman, now on board HMS Eliza. Hollman entered at the rendezvous on 10 September as a substitute for Thomas Chance, sent to the Nore on 29 August aboard HMS Lyra. Hollman describes himself as a Swede and is aged 28.
Folios 47-48: enclosed with folios 45-46. [damaged] Letter from S J Holmen, the tender, North Shields, to the Admiralty 21 September 1810. Asks if S J Holmen [sic], who entered at Shields as a substitute, can be allowed to find another seaman or two Landsmen to take his place.
