Folios 216-217: John Manley, HMS Apollo, Sheerness. He acquaints them that after Vumps[?] [Warps], Hawsers and every thing that was necessary were procured from the Contractor at Yarmouth; and men sent onboard from the Rendezvous, and Revenue; He took HMS Scourge and HMS Hind under his Command as he purposed in his letter to you dated 29 December 1794 and having rigged a Machine out of the Calbin[?] Windows, abaft, made of one of the spare Topmasts, loaded at one end with Pigs of Iron Ballast, by way of a Rudder; got under weigh on the same morning; and with the assistance of those vessels; and the Fishing Smacks (whose Masters were very attentive) arrived at this Port yesterday. He encloses [not present] a Journal of HMS Apollo from the time we left the Nore until her arrival here.
