Folios 117-118: Alexander Mackay, [Regulating Officer], Aberdeen. Covering letter for the enclosed return on the one man raised for the County of Banff. He acknowledges receipt of an Act of Parliament entitled, An Act for requiring all Boats, Barges and other Vessels of certain Descriptions, used on Navigable Rivers and on Inland Navigations in Great Britain to be Registered, accompanied with Instructions for him from the Admiralty. He would have put their orders in execution but could not find a Person with the skills in the Building and assessment of such vessels till Monday 13 July 1795 when there is a person who was engaged to accompany him to the several Ports and Rivers.
Folio 119: enclosure with folios 117-118. An Account of One Man (Benjamin Blake) Shipped by Lieutenant George Robertson, Regulating at Banff under his Command, on board the Dutchess of Gordon, James Scott Master, to be delivered on board HMS Sandwich at the Nore. Signed Alexander Mackay. Dated 7 July 1795.
