Folios 84-85: Simon Mackenzie, HMS Sheerness, Spithead. He acquaints them that nearly half the Company of HMS Sheerness have made application to be paid down to six months wages which at the last payment could not be done by Commissioner Saxton, their appearance being after the 31 July 1794 (the day the ship was paid down to) although their Original Entry was upwards of three months, prior to that date, but not joined her, till the ship came to the Nore. He being this day informed by Commissioner Saxton that he cannot do any thing as to paying them without Directions. He requests you will please make the same known to them, that, should the wind prevent his Sailing, they may be paid down to Six Months.
