Folios 80-81: Simon Mackenzie, HMS Sheerness, Spithead. States that as neither he or any of his Officers have ever been on the Coast of Africa & as Lieutenant Henry Laroche of HMS Barfleur, with whom he is perfectly acquainted, will he thinks would render him essential service and being desirous to go on the voyage, And as his First Lieutenant Mr Dederick Charlesson would very readily quit, as such provided it meet their Lordships approbation, if he could be employed on the Home Service. He requests the appointment of Lieytenant Henry Laroche as his First Lieutenant.
