Lieutenant George Plowman informs him that he has been appointed to command HMS Defender, asks whether he and his press gang should be discharged from the Impress Service. Lieutenant John Mundale [Mundell] of HMS Meteor has asked if he can replace Lieutenant Plowman.
Folio 168A: enclosed with folios 167-168. Card with the name of Vice Admiral John Surman Carden on one side. [Endorsed on the other in pencil with the Cap reference R85 and the date 17 February].
