Folios 222-223: Willoughby Thomas Lake, HMS Magnificent, off Brest. Reports that after Marine Private William Aimring [?] was convicted by court martial in March of stealing £28 from John Maggott, Maggott was told that his loss would be made good from an imprest on Aimring's wages. But when the ship was next paid in July , there was no stoppage of the Marine's wages. Asks whether the Admiralty have ordered that this should be done.
Folio 224: enclosed with folios 222-223. Admiralty Paper Office slip recording the fact that Captain Lake's letter has been referred to the Navy Board.
