Folio 152-153: Robert Lloyd, HMS Plantagenet, Halifax. Reports he sailed from Spithead on 10 March with the troops and transports for the River Tagus, and arrived there eight days later. He took the 29th Regiment to Cadiz, but then had to await the arrival from Lisbon of transports to embark the Regiment of Watteville. He sailed for with these transports for Halifax and arrived there on 17 May to find HMS Minerva about to depart for Quebec. She had from Admiral Sir John Borlase Warren to escort the troops being transported to Upper Canada, and he then ordered her to add the Regiment of Watteville to her convoy. Because of a report that enemy frigates out of Boston might try to intercept this convoy, he ordered HMS Nymphs and HMS Amide to see the convoy safely up the St Lawrence River as far as Anticosti Island. He will now sail to join Admiral Sir John Borlase Warren.
