Folios 125-126: Edward Lyon, Regulating Officer, Londonderry. In response to the letter of 29 May 1811 as to why not more men have been raised, he notes that between 1 May 1810 and 28 May 1811, he raised 16 Seamen and 32 men and boys. The Hope tender sailed with them on 17 May 1811 and returned on 23 June 1811 and then sailed again as ordered by Vice Admiral Thornbrough with men for HMS Saldanha at Loughswilly. He has found fewer volunteers than last year because there have been constant ships of war in Loughswilly who has taken them. Lieutenant Watson has been indefatigable in boarding every ship that arrives but the Revenue cruisers board first and take any impressable men out of them. He is also constantly required to help ships of war prevent men from deserting.
