Description

Folios 592-593: Frederick Paul Irby, HMS Amelia, Cape Coast Roads. Report of proceedings. Mainly about the detention of Spanish and Portuguese vessels. States that the natives of Whinebah have ever been a most refractory set and in many instances have behaved in the most insulting manner to the Governors.

Folios 594-595: enclosure with folios 592-593. Letter dated 6 February 1812 by J. H. Smith, Winnebah Fort, to E. W. White. Regarding a letter by Henry Richter to J. H. Smith concerning the seizure of Mr Meredith by the townspeople.

Folios 596-597: enclosure with folios 592-593. Letter dated 31 March 1812 by Edward William White, Cape Coast Castle to Frederick Paul Irby, HMS Amelia. Reports the alarm of those resident in the coast of the several murders of those Europeans commanding forts.

Folios 598-599: enclosure with folios 592-593. Letter dated 15 February 1812 by J. H. Smith, Tantum Fort. About the barbarous treatment of officials and friends.

Folios 600-601: enclosure with folios 592-593. Letter dated 9 February 1812 by J. H. Smith, Tantum Fort. Regarding the seizure of Mr Meredith.
