Map 6. New Zealand: Te Kohia Pa: Waitara: 'Sketch of Pah destroyed on 18th March 1860'. Plan showing ground plan of stockade; elevation; sketches: 'Breached End of Pah', 'Rough Sketch of Outer Palisade', 'Rough Sketch of Inner Palisade and Underground Trenches'. Scale: plan: 1 inch to 20 feet; elevation: 1 inch to 8 feet. Signed by Lieutenant Frederick B Mould, Royal Engineers, 20 March 1860. Lithographed and printed at the Topographical Department, War Office, 1860. To illustrate despatch by Colonel C E Gold, 65th Foot, Commanding the Forces in New Zealand, to Governor T Gore Browne, of 19 March 1860, concerning 'the destruction of a pa that William King's party had... on the Government block of land, for hostile purposes'; enclosure number 1 in Gore Browne's despatch number 26 of 20 March 1860, to the Duke of Newcastle, Secretary of State for the Colonies. Sheet embossed with the Royal arms. Formerly in the War Office map library, in portfolio, under the reference: 'Oceania (New Zealand) Battles, Sieges and Warlike Operations 2'.
