Folios 335-336. Commodore Thompson, commanding His Majesty's naval forces in Africa, suggests that those criminals awaiting execution whose bodies are to be dissected are more worried about the dissection than the hanging. A decision to dissect all hanged criminals might therefore act as a deterrent to crime while at the same time providing bodies for the surgeons which at present they have to obtain from the Resurrection Men who charge 2 guineas per corpse.
