Folios 368-369: George Martin, HMS Colossus, Great Nore. Advising that as requested by them he has investigated the case of Alex Thompson and finds that the man had enlisted in the Berwickshire Militia in November 1802, and received a bounty. He then deserted and came to London, where he was impressed last June and sent aboard the Enterprise. However, before his impressment he had written to the colonel expressing his intention of returning to the Regiment.
