Folios 270-271: John Willoughby Marshall, HMS Lynx, Long Reach. Responding to Admiralty query he says Henry Bear had been impressed from the Woodford East India at Gravesend, in which ship he had been for over 7 weeks and intended to sail in her to India. But upon coming on board the Lynx he had entered the Service and received the bounty on 5 May.
Folios 272-273: enclosure with folios 270-271. Petition dated 2 May 1803 from Thomas Philips, London, saying his apprentice, Henry Bear, had been impressed and asking for his discharge.
