Folios 261-262: John Willoughby Marshall, HMS Lynx, Long Reach. Replying to Mr Marsden's query of 18 April, he says that Thomas Bagley was impressed on 11 April from the Coutts East India ship, having been on board for 3 weeks and intending to sail to India with her, claiming his master was aware and was not able to support him.
Folios 263-264: enclosure with folios 261-262. Letter dated 16 April 1803 by John Matthews, weaver of Mile End New Town, sending his apprentice's indenture.
F olio 265: enclosure with folios 263-264. Sworn statement dated 16 April 1803 from Matthews that Bagley had been impressed into HMS Lynx but was his apprentice and had never been at sea in his life.
