Folios 254-255: John Willoughby Marshall, HMS Lynx, Long Reach. Replying to letter of 13 April, with regard to James Williams, of the snow Providence, says that having received an affidavit of his being carpenter of the Providence, which he had not previously seen proof of, he has discharged the man and had advised their Lordships the day before of this.
Folios 256-257: enclosure with folios 254-255. Petition dated 12 April 1803 from William Sims, Master of the Providence, of Newcastle, a collier, saying Williams was the ship's carpenter but had been impressed on 6 April - and asking for his discharge.
