Folios 126-127: Robert Mansel, HMS Beschermer, off Harwich. Advising that while moving the ship from Golderman's Gat to the Wallet, as ordered by Lord Keith, he found she would not respond to the helm, by tacking or wearing. Notes that the rudder had been unshipped before he sailed from Sheerness, and some adjustments made, which seem to have prevented her from answering to helm. Asks if he may go ahead and make a temporary repair until the ship can be properly attended to.
