Folios 106-107: Robert Mansel, HMS Beschermer, off Harwich. Responding to Admiralty request for information on Thomas Rhimes, an in-pensioner of Greenwich, says he is reported by the surgeon to be very 'debilitated from old age' and afflicted with various ailments including urinary incontinence.
Folios 108-109: enclosure with folios 106-107. Letter dated 5 August 1803 by Thomas Rimes [sic] (his mark only), a petition to Earl St Vincent, saying he had served under him in the Foudroyant during the American War and that due to the present state of 'disturbance' he had been ordered from Greenwich to serve in the Beschermer. But his poor health means he is unable to carry out his duties and begs to be allowed to return to Greenwich.
