Folios 103-104: Robert Mansel, HMS Beschermer, off Harwich. Stating the case of Thomas Thompson, whom Admiral Rowley on 9 August said was claiming to be an American citizen but with no documentary proof.
Folio 105: enclosure with folios 103-104. Statement dated 3 August 1803 by Ann Wood, of St Anns Lane, Westminster, saying she is not the wife of Thomas Thomson [sic] but had intended to become so and had known the man about 12 months. She believes he isan American and recalls seeing certificates and protections granted by the American Consul which have no doubt been lost or mislaid, leading to his impressment.
