Folios 467-468: John Melhuish, HMS Perseus at Woolwich. Encloses a letter by Mr Mills, Carpenter of HMS Perseus, Adds that the Boatswain of HMS Perseus is absent being confined in Maidstone Gaol for debt. Suggests that Thomas Scott at present a rigger in the yard, previously a Boatswain may be considered for this role. He understands that Scott had previously been broke by a court martial for striking a soldier.
Folios 470-470A: enclosure with folios 467-468. Letter dated 22 March 1803 by Adam Boyle, Church Street, Deptford, to John Melhuish. Being 72 years old and suffering from medical conditions is unable to take up his post on HMS Perseus and offers his resignation.
Folios 471-472: enclosure with folios 467-468. Letter dated 20 March 1803 by Daniel Mills, HMS Perseus, Woolwich. States that he is incapable of actual service having lost the use of his left hand and having no strength in his right hip while employed at Newfoundland by being violently attacked by rheumatism. Has been warranted for 20 years and asks for an annuity or a position on any ship builiding in Ordinary.
