Folios 314-315: Keith Maxwell, HMS Hound, Deptford. Reports that in Regulating the Seamen procured by the General Impress on Saturday last, that a few doubtful cases having occurred, though sufficiently clear. in his own opinion, to authorise the step of sending them to the Nore, in the present exigence; yet as their Lordships may be troubled with applications on the said cases, he takes the liberty of anticipating the same by enclosing you the different Documents produced in favour, with the objections, and reasons, for not considering them sufficient protections, as assigned on the back of each.
