Folios 310-311: Keith Maxwell, HMS Hound, Deptford. Reply to letter dated 7 May 1803 requesting he state the arrangements fot the General Impress. Having sent to the different departments for information respecting the success thererof. He is sorry to be obliged to state that from the lower part of the River Viz: Woolwich, Longreach ect. the report returned was blank. And that from Deptford out of near three hundred men, we were enabled to collect together coming under the Head of Acts of Parliment; and disqualifications from Age, and infirmities He has only been able to retain ninty three useful men. He also states that having directed Captain John Lamborn to put men if necessary for security, on board HMS Enterprise or the most conveinent rescpitalls placed on the pool in consequence of which there are a great number of men he is unable to account for being left on board HMS Enterprise, the Woolwich Tender at the Town, they will come under the Regulations of Captain Thomas Richbell.
