Description

Folios 297-298: Keith Maxwell, HMS Hound, Deptford. Reply to letter dated 7 May 1803 requesting him to state the cases of William Rippon and Richard Newburn. He reports that finding each of them had been 4 years at sea he sent both to the Nore.

Folios 299-300: enclosures with folios 297-298. Letter dated 6 May 1803 by Richard Kelly, of South Shields, London, to the Admiralty. Petition of Richard Kelly, Ship Owner for the discharge of William Rippon and Richard Newburn, Apprentices.

Folio 301: enclosure with folios 297-298. Affidavit sworn at Mansion House London on 6 May 1803, before Charles Price, Lord Mayor of City of London. That Thomas Richardson of Sunderland in the County of Durham this day Voluntarily Maketh Oath and Faith That William Rippon and Richard Newburn Impressed on 3 May 1803 are both under Articles of Apprenticeship to the Owner of the Betty & Nelly as per Indentures dated September 1798.
