Folios 275-276: Keith Maxwell, HMS Hound, Deptford. Reply to letter dated 5 May 1803 requesting he state the case of Thomas Middlemas. He reports that he is about 21 years of age with all the appearance of having served much longer at sea than appears by the indenture and on interviewing him his confession of the number of voyages authorised him to detain him. He was sent to the Nore .
