Description

Folios 273-274: Keith Maxwell, HMS Hound, Deptford. Reply to letter dated 5 May 1803 requesting him to state the cases of Jonathan Young, Peter Nicander & Christopher Pusson. He reports that Jonathan Young does not appear on the Supernumerary List of HMS Hound therefore he must have made his appearance and been disposed of here by some other name as a volunteer. Peter Nicander is at present on HMS Gelikheid in the River Medway where he was conveyed by HMS Minx Gun Brig, having no protection or other documents. John Pusson is similar to Jonathan Young as his name is not on the Supernumerary List of HMS Hound, nore in any Tender here as reported in the Swedish Consol's letter. He assures that no foreigners are ever sent to the Nore, but those under the description of Volunteers, if they have any documents whatever to produce authorising him to discharge them.
