Description

Folios 22-23: Keith Maxwell, HMS Hound, Deptford. Reply to letter dated 28 February 1803 demanding to know the reason in writing of Lord William Fitzroy Commander of HMS Fairy, for not signing the Daily Progress Report of HMS Fairy and enclose his reply. He also states he has put in execution their Lordships demands respecting the signature of the Daily progress which will be strictly adhered to. He also mentions that the reason why HMS Jalouse's Progress have not been sent for some days past is in consequence of Captain Christopher Strachey representing to him that the Sloop was in perfect readiness for Sea, the want of men only excepted.

Folios 24-25: enclosure with folios 22-23. Letter dated 2 March 1803 by William Fitzroy, HMS Fairy, Deptford, to Keith Maxwell, HMS Hound. States the reason the Daily Progress was not signed was that he did not know that this was necessary, it will be done so in the future.
