Crime: Cruelty to a horse, the property of William Hall.

Petitions and letters: Petition from 30 inhabitants of Morton upon Swale, North Riding of Yorkshire, including William Hall (prosecutor); letter from Samuel Wise (Clerk of the Peace for the Liberty of Ripon, North Riding of Yorkshire and signatory to the petition) transmitting the petition to the Home Office; grounds for clemency cited that he committed the crime under excitement of mind, he has been in the infirmary ever since his conviction, the horse has recovered and the costs and damages have been paid by his friends, the prosecutor has joined in the petition, time served.
