Description

Folio: 479v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter K. Grant.

First party: Emma, daughter of William Wale.

Second party: Hawise de Quincy.

Place or subject: The whole land with appurtenances which Emma had in Heredwic [Eynesbury Hardwick], namely three and a half selions which lie upon Hundelowam between the land which was of Juliana Wale and Cecily, her sister; and three and a half selions which lie upon Braches between the lands of Juliana and Cecily; and five selions below Fulewell next to Juliana's land; and four selions on the other side of Dene between Hawise's cultivated field and Juliana's land; and two selions which lie in the croft against Grenam between the lands of Hawise and Cecily; and four selions upon Wuldenehul which lie between the lands which were of Juliana and Cecily. To hold to Hawise and her heirs or assigns of Emma and her heirs in fee and inheritance, freely, quietly and honourably forever, paying 1d yearly to Emma and her heirs at Easter for all service, custom and demand. For this grant Hawise gave Emma four marks.
