Description

Folio: 476v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter K. Grant.

First party: Henry, duke of Loth' [Lorraine], marquess of the empire of Rome and lord of the honor of Eye.

Second party: Reginald le Vo.

Place or subject: The whole manor of Seggebroc [Sedgebrook] at farm for his homage and service with all appurtenances, liberties and easements, as freely, quietly and honourably as ever Henry held it or his ancestors held it. Henry has also quitclaimed this manor to Reginald, free from all pleas which pertain to the liberty of the manor, and in all things, namely in men, houses, barns, gardens, lands, meadows, paths, pastures, waters, mills, rents, services of men, escheats, pleas, aids, wood and plain, with all appurtenances and easements and all things without any exception. To hold to Reginald and his heirs of Henry and his heirs in fee and inheritance, freely, quietly, entirely, honourably and purposely, paying £14 sterling yearly to Henry and his heirs for all service and exaction at two terms of the year, namely £8 within the octave of Easter and £7 within the octave of Michaelmas £7. For this grant Reginald gave Henry forty marks sterling.
