Description

Folio: 467. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter I. Grant.

First party: Osbert, son of Hedus de Welleton [Welton].

Second party: Philip Galle de Saltfletby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: Four acres of land lying in the territory of Welleton [Welton], two acres of which lie between Philip's land on the south side and the land of the nuns of Ormesby [Ormsby] on the north side, the sides of which abut towards the west upon Catebigate, and towards the east upon the headland of William de Blesseby [Bleasby], and three perches lie between the lands of William Rus and Maud, wife of Osbert the clerk, and they abut upon Catebygate on the west side of the vill, and three selions lie on the east side of the vill upon Godewynhou between the lands of the nuns of Ormsby on the north side and the lands of William de Blesseby on the south side, the sides of which abut upon the headland of Osbert Siref on the east side and towards the west upon Elkyntungate. For 20s which Philip gave to Osbert in advance. To hold to Philip and his heirs freely and quietly, in fee and inheritance, paying 1d to Osbert and his heirs yearly at the feast of St Botolph for all services, suits of courts and demands.
