Description

Folio: 466v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter I. Grant.

First party: Geoffrey West, son of Geoffrey, son of Hernise de Welleton [Welton].

Second party: Philip Galle of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: One and a half acres and one perch of arable land with appurtenances lying in the territory of Welleton [Welton] on the east side of the vill, one acre and one perch of which lie between the land which was of Gilbert, son of Galian de Hundelby [Hundleby], on the south side, and the land of William de Blesseby [Bleasby] on the north side, and they abut towards the west upon the land of William son of Thomas and towards the east upon the way called Thatwelgate. And one half-acre lies next between the land of John, son of John the reeve, on the south side and Philip's land on the north side, and it abuts towards the west upon the land of Alan son of Britann and towards the east upon Philip's land. Without any reservation. For 7s which Philip gave to Geoffrey in advance. To hold to Geoffrey and his heirs freely, quietly, peacefully, in fee and inheritance, paying yearly to Geoffrey and his heirs one clove at Michaelmas for all secular services, customs, suits of courts and demands.
