Description

Folio: 464. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter I. Grant.

First party: Walter, son of Roger de Salfleteby [Saltfleetby], with the advice and will of Alice, his wife.

Second party: Philip Galle.

Place or subject: One acre and a half in two places in the territory of Weletun [Welton], namely two selions lying in Torkedale next to the land of the nuns of Ormesby [Ormsby] on the north side in length, whose sides abut towards the west upon Keltorpmart towards the west, and upon the land of those nuns towards the east, and two selions lying in Westermarstayn, whose sides abut upon Westerdale and Inderesdale towards the east, next to the land of Osbert le Sirvhe on the north side and the land of Geoffrey the parson of Gaytun [Gayton], with all appurtenances and whatever Walter had in those places without any reservation. For half a mark which Philip gave to Walter in advance. To hold to Philip and his heirs or assigns freely, quietly, in fee and inheritance, paying yearly one grain of pepper to Walter and his heirs at the feast of St Botoph for all services, suits of courts and demands.
