Description

Folios: 462v-463. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter I. Grant.

First party: William, son of William son of Hamund of Velltona [Welton].

Second party: Philip Galle of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: Three acres of land in the territory of Velletona [Welton] on the west side of the vill with appurtenances, of which one acre and a half and one perch and a half lie between the lands of the nuns of Ormesby [Ormsby] and of Alan son of Brian on the west side, and of Philip himself on the east side, whose sides abut towards the north upon the royal way and towards the south upon the land of Hugh Fossard. And one acre and one perch lie between the lands of John Fam', parson, which was once of Geoffrey de Politunne, on the north side, and of Alan son of Britann on the south side, whose sides abut towards the west upon the land of Alan son of Britann and towards the east upon Alan's land, namely the whole land which William had or could have in those places. For £10 which Philip gave to William in advance. To hold to Philip and his heirs or assigns freely, quietly, in fee and inheritance, paying 1d yearly to William and his heirs at the feast of St Botolph for all services, customs, suits of courts and demands.
