First party: John Galle of Salfletby [Saltfleetby].
Second party: Simon Scnecke of Luda [Louth], carpenter.
Place or subject: One plot of land with the houses thereon in the vill of Lude [Louth], lying next between the land which was once of Thomas Morin on the west side and Moudonelgate on the east side, and it abuts towards the south upon the common way of the vill and towards the north upon the land of Roger de Hoylandia [Holland]. For his service. To hold to Simon during his whole life of John and his heirs freely, quietly, well and in peace, paying yearly to John and his heirs, as long as he is alive, 4s 6d at four terms of the year, namely 13½d at each of the feasts of Christmas, Easter, St Botolph and Michaelmas, for all services and demands. Simon will maintain the houses in the same state as he took them, or in a better state, and the walls at his own costs in all things necessary, as long as he is alive, and the commons of the vill. After Simon's death the plot with houses will return to John and his heirs without any challenge from the heirs of Simon or any others.
