Description

Folio: 458v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter I. Final concord.

First party: Robert de Malo Lacu [Mauley], Emma, his wife, Robert de Oxecumbe [Oxcombe] and William, son of William son of Orme, by Robert de Stocton, their attorney.

Second party: Walter Bec.

Place or subject: Fifteen bovates of land with appurtenances in Fulestowe [Fulstow] and Waldneweton [Wold Newton]. Whereupon a plea was [summoned] between them in court, namely that Walter acknowledged the whole land with appurtenances to be the right of Robert, Emma, Robert and William. And for this concord Robert, Emma, Robert and William granted to Walter twelve bovates of land with appurtenances in those vills of Fulestowe [Fulstow] and Waldneweton [Wold Newton] of the same land. To hold to Walter and his heirs from Robert, Emma, Robert and William and their heirs forever, doing the service of five parts of one knight for all service. And three bovates of land with appurtenances in Waldneweton [Wold Newton] out of those bovates of land are to remain to Robert, Emma, Robert and William and their heirs, quit from Walter and his heirs forever, namely half a bovate of land which William the reeve held; and a half a bovate of land with appurtenances which Roger son of Rumfar' held; and half a bovate of land with appurtenances which Gregory de Waldneweton [Wold Newton] held, and one bovate of land and a half which Geoffrey son of Rumfar' and William Tumby held, doing to the chief lords of that fee the service of a sixth part of one knight for all service.
