Folio: 450. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter I. Quitclaim.
First party: Hugh de Kauz.
Second party: Ranulf, earl of Chester and Lincoln [Ranulf de Blondeville].
Place or subject: The whole of Hugh's land with appurtenances which he held of the earl in Tunstal [Dunstall], and one half of a knight's fee which Roger de St Martin held of Hugh in Raburne [Redbourne]. To hold to the earl and his heirs or assigns freely, quietly, fully, entirely and peacefully with all liberties and easements pertaining to those lands both within the vill and outside. For this quitclaim the earl gave Hugh thirty marks sterling. Hugh also quitclaimed the arrears which he owed to the earl from these lands, namely from scutages and services up to the sum of thirty marks.
