Description

Folios: 447v-448. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter I. Grant.

First party: Jeliana, daughter of John, son of Alexander de Welletona [Welton].

Second party: Philip Galle of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: Two and a half acres and one perch in the territory of Welletona [Welton], of which one acre and twenty 'falls' lie on the east side of the land between the lands of William, son of Robert de Chalkewelle [Cawkwell], husband of Mabel, daughter of Osbert son of Thorald de Welleton on the east side and Bassilia daughter of John, his sister, on the west side, the sides of which abut towards the north upon Smalling and towards the south upon Northendale. And one and a half acres and twenty 'falls' lie in Doflandes, namely on the west side of the vill between the lands of Bassilia, daughter of John son of Alexander, wife of John Bell, on the north side and of Robert the smith on the south side, the sides of which abut towards the east upon the land of William de Blesseby [Bleasby] and towards the west upon Landmare, namely the whole land which Jeliana had or could have in those places. For 8s which Philip gave to Jeliana in advance. To hold to Philip and his heirs freely and quietly in fee and inheritance of Jeliana and her heirs, paying to her and her heirs one halfpenny at the feast of St Botolph for all services, customs, suits of courts and demands.
