Folio: 446. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter I. Agreement of lease.
First party: Ranulf Russell, earl of Chester and Lincoln.
Second party: Gilbert de Bengwrth [Benniworth].
Place or subject: Gilbert demised to the earl seven bovates of land in Beningwrth [Benniworth] with all appurtenances within the vill and outside, from the feast St Martin [11 November] 1223 until the end of eight years, namely those two bovates which Ranulf de Northorp held, one bovate which Ertusius son of Walter held, two bovates which Walter son of William, held; and two bovates which Ertusius son of William held. To hold with those men freely and quietly during that term for forty marks which the earl gave to Gilbert in advance.
