Description

Folios: 445-445v. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter I. Grant.

First party: Ranulf, earl of Chester [Ranulf de Blundeville].

Second party: William, earl of Lincoln, his brother.

Place or subject: Watteleiam To hold in fee and inheritance to William and his heirs of Ranulf and his heirs, with all appurtenances, freely, quietly and honourably, rendering the service of two knights every single year.

County: [Lincolnshire].

Additional people: Witnesses: William de Coleville; Robert Ginssacc; Geoffrey Malab' [Malbisse], on behalf of Earl William; Hawise, countess of Lincoln; and Guy de Ponilla.

The morrow of the Holy Cross in the same year, in which William, earl of Lincoln [William de Roumare], returned from pilgrimage to Santiago di Compostella, which is celebrated in September.
