Second party: William, earl of Lincoln [William de Roumare].
Place or subject: The king's manor of Chirchetona [Kirton in Lindsey] with all appurtenances, just as the king held it while it was in his hands, excepting the land of the canons of Lincoln, and excepting 100s of land in Graingeham [Grayingham] which Earl Ranulf holds of the king and his heirs, to hold with all free customs pertaining to the same manor. The king also grants to the earl his castle of Geinesburg' [Gainsborough] and his bridge beyond the Trent, to hold freely and quietly with all free customs, with whom any earl of England holds his castles better or more freely. To hold to the earl of Lincoln well, in peace, freely, quietly and honourably.
