First party: John le Vavasur [Vavasour].
Second party: Philip Galle.
Place or subject: John demised at farm to Philip his manor in Cokerington [Cockerington], which was of Robert de Prendergast, with houses and gardens and the whole land he had in the same vill and in the territories of the same vill pertaining to that manor, both arable land and meadow, with the wood and the service of freeholders, with villeins and their lands, chattels and their followings, without any reservation, and the whole other land which passed to John and Alice, his wife, by the death of Robert de Cokefeld [Cockfield], or by ward or by another way in the same vill, with salt and all services and rents, customs, liberties, free entries and exits, easements and all appurtenances pertaining to the manor and lands, in tofts, crofts, woods, fields, meadows, pastures, ways, paths, fishings and in all other places within the vill and outside. For £54 which Philip gave in advance to John in his need. To hold to Philip and his heirs or assigns, excepting Jews and religious men, until the end of twelve years next following. And it is to be known that Philip took on this day the manor with houses, and the gardens, rents, villeins with their customs, fallow-land, with meadows and pastures. Once those twelve years are fully elapsed, the manor will return quit to John and his heirs without impediment from Philip or his heirs or assigns. Saving to Philip and his heirs or assigns his crop, which will be in the arable land from part of the field that is sown. Philip and his heirs or assigns will maintain the houses and garden, walls and ditches, and return them at the end of this agreement as they received them at the beginning, by the view of lawful and discreet men.
