Description

Folios: 432v-433. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter F. Grant.

First party: William, son of Humphrey de Manneby [Manby].

Second party: Philip Galle of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: Five selions of arable land with appurtenances lying in the territory of Cokerinton [Cockerington] on the east side of the vill and west, two selions of which lie on the east side of the vill next between the lands of the nuns of Halvingham [Alvingham] on both sides, and they abut towards the north upon Haringsick and towards the south upon the royal way; and three selions lie on the west side of the vill upon Wylch in diverse places, namely one selion lies next between the lands of the nuns of Alvingham on both sides; and the other selion lies next between the lands of the nuns on the west side and of Walter son of Osbert on the east side. Both selions abut towards the north upon Woddegate. And the third selion lies next between the lands of Simon Tussardh' on both sides and abuts towards the south upon the land of Lady Nichola and towards the north upon the land of Richard de Walischo. Without any reservation, for a certain sum of money which Philip gave to William in advance. To hold to Philip and his heirs of William and his heirs freely, quietly, peacefully, in fee and inheritance, paying yearly to William and his heirs one clove at the feast of St Botolph for all services, secular customs, suits of courts and demands.
