Description

Folio: 432. Honor of Bolyngbrok [Bolingbroke], in one box, marked by the letter F. Grant.

First party: William, son of Humphrey de Manneby [Manby].

Second party: Philip Galle of Saltfletby [Saltfleetby].

Place or subject: Four selions of land with appurtenances in the territory of Cokerinton [Cockerington] on the west side of the vill, two selions of which lie at Wythemar and contain three perches and thirty-two 'falls' between the lands of Lady Nichola de Sancta Maria, which Richard, son of Alan Hylayle holds on the west side, and of Lady Nichola and Richard Waleys and the nuns of Alvingham on the east side., the limits of which abut towards the north upon the land of Robert de Crepinges [Crepping] and towards the south upon the land of Jerles; and one selion lies at Kircille, which contains one perch between Philip's lands on the west side and Lambert Curteys on the east side, whose sides abut towards the north upon the headland of Lady Nichola de Sancta Maria and towards the south upon the headland of the nuns of Alvingham; and the fourth selion lies between the lands of Peter de Wyumme on the east side and the nuns of Alvingham on the west side. whose sides abut towards the south upon the watercourse and towards the north upon the land of Robert Scharite, which was once of William de Reddeburn [Redbourne]. These selions contain one acre and one perch, namely the whole land with appurtenances which William had in those places. For 16s which Philip gave to William in advance. To hold to Philip and his heirs freely, quietly, in fee and inheritance, paying yearly to William and his heirs one clove at the feast of St Botolph for all services, customs, suits of courts and demands.
